Welsh scientists are pioneering the use of seaweed to clean up rivers polluted by old mines. Dozens of Welsh waterways are suffering from heavy metals coming from former silver and lead mines nearby.

But a new device created by an international team of scientists led by researchers at the University of Wales, Aberyst- wyth could tackle what is a worldwide pollution problem.
