In cases of allergenic/hypersensitive skin, the skin's barrier is undermined and can no longer fulfil its protective function. Unlike sensitive skin, which is a permanent condition, hypersensitive skin is in a state of crisis.
Of the 61% of women who claim to have sensitive skin, 21% develop a reaction of intolerance. These women will experience reactions to climatic stress along with prickling, tightness, fine flaking, and extreme dryness.
