Sir - i was interested to read the Western Mail news item on September 21, 'Doctors call for scrapping of hospital car-parking charges'. Ironically, my wife had to attend the University Hospital this week - her first visit there since 1978. She is in her early 80s and disabled in more ways than one. Her daughter drove her to the hospital, allowing ample time to park for her 10am appointment. She was able to park near the outpatient's entrance in a disabled space and displayed the Blue Badge.
Returning to the car about 1pm she was disgusted to find a ticket indicating a fine of pounds 30 for not having paid the parking charge.See the full content of this document
