A RECENTLY launched Swansea company has secured a pounds 1m contract to install an innovative water treatment plant at Shell's gas terminal site in Co Mayo, Ireland.

The plant, built by Watertec Solutions, uses electro-coagulation technology to clean groundwater contaminated by aluminium-rich clay and peat run-off water which other treatment processes fail to treat. The process has been known for about 100 years, but has recently become more popular with advances in technology.
