WALES' largest NHS trust may not be able to sustain some services because of a critical shortage of doctors, it was claimed last night.

Hywel Dda NHS Trust, which runs hospital and mental health services across West Wales, is facing a shortage of 62 doctors. Senior consultants and clinical directors have warned that there will not be enough doctors to safely run services in all its hospitals unless recruitment improves dramatically.
