Hodri Morgan famously called for the Assembly to be a body for the people, not for the crachach, so goodness knows what he makes of the latest attempt to inject some aristocracy into proceedings at the Senedd. Sir Dai Llewellyn may stand little chance of winning Cardiff North for Ukip, but the entry of this high- living socialite will at least inject a bit of extra excitement into the campaign.
We may not agree with his party's stated policy of scrapping the Assembly, but we live in a democracy, and a democracy functions more effectively if people are given a genuine choice.
