Smoking Ban Litter a Bigger Blow to England

Summary


Wales' streets have fewer cigarette butts on them than those in any other part of the UK, litter campaigners say. The number of cigarette butts dropped on the streets of England has gone up by more than 40% since the smoking ban was brought in, Keep Britain Tidy reveal today.

But in Wales, where the ban has been in place since April, the figure is just 7%, while in Northern Ireland it is 17%.
