Four men, including two Welsh brothers, smuggled cocaine worth pounds 61m into the UK hidden in a consignment of cashew nuts, a court heard yesterday. A jury at Bristol Crown Court heard how brothers Ian Thornhill, 53, of Bridgend, and Stuart Thornhill, 58, of Chaddleworth, Berkshire, plotted to bring in the massive drugs haul from Brazil in May 2003.
It is alleged that the brothers, who originally come from Mawdlam, near Kenfig Hill, set up an import company called Equisave to 'camouflage' the drug smuggling and intended using the Welsh Development Agency to provide money to buy machinery.See the full content of this document
