SIR - I wish to express a total rapport with Abbie Wightwick ("You just can't sniff out the best fruit or feel the fabric on the internet", Sept 30) on the added personal stimulus related to direct shopping in contrast to browsing the internet.
As we tour shops on our spending adventures, chewing lips in concentration, assessing value and usefulness - even the most timid amongst us experiences a certain amount of social contact.
