WHEN artist Julia Brooker first moved into her three-bedroom 1929 semi-detached house in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, three years ago, it was decorated in a hideous blend of brilliant colours - brown and peppermint green, lurid pink and yellow.

But rather than be put off by the clashing palette, the 45-year- old accepted it as a challenge.
