Supermarket giant Sainsbury's is to give away one million energy- saving light bulbs - the number it normally sells in a year, it said today. The bulbs will be handed out on Saturday in return for pledges from customers to try to save energy - at the culmination of Energy Saving Week, which starts today.
Sainsbury's said the aim was to encourage customers and staff to switch on to greener alternatives during darker months. The chain will also reduce the energy it uses in its stores for the weekend, by 45 tonnes of carbon dioxide.See the full content of this document
