Summary


Several planes had to be diverted to Cardiff International Airport yesterday after an aircraft veered off a runway in bad weather at Bristol. Cardiff began taking planes from Bristol, mostly owned by easyJet, around lunchtime. Earlier, a flight from the Channel Islands had landed safely at Bristol but had then swerved into grass next to the runway and become stuck.

The incident caused the runway to be shut for more than an hour, with some planes diverted across the Severn to Cardiff.
