A computer business started by a Cardiff University student in 2000 now has a turnover of pounds 1m. Nic Stone, 26, used his student loan to launch student- laptops.co.uk, which is bracing itself for its busiest start-of-term yet.

The company now supplies laptops to students and other people seeking an inexpensive computer throughout the United Kingdom. Prices range from as low as pounds 79 to around pounds 200.
