Summary
The first apprenticeship scheme in procurement in Wales has been launched. The year-long scheme will train students to become procurement professionals. Focusing on skills such as financial management, purchasing and tendering, and communication the scheme has been set up in response to a national shortage of procurement professionals.
Set up by Kay Smith, director of NHS's North Wales Supplies Consortium, with help from NHS procurement officer Kathryn Sawyers, the programme also allows students to study for an NVQ level 2 in procurement.See the full content of this document
