The increasing impact of golf tourism on the Welsh economy in the run-up to the 2010 Ryder Cup is demonstrated in new research. The total number of golfers coming to Wales to play - including visitors from within Wales and day-trippers - rose by 15,500 to 154,800 during 2005, according to the Golf Tourism Monitor conducted by Sports Marketing Surveys on behalf of Ryder Cup Wales and Visit Wales.
The total expenditure by these visitors on their golf breaks increased by pounds 900,000 to pounds 23.9m.See the full content of this document
