Summary
SIR - I cannot disagree with the origin of the name 'Tesco' as given in Jenny Rees's interesting article (January 18), but I can say that the name is also the acronym for a useful slogan. Sixty years ago, the lettering over Tesco's shop in the High Road in East Finchley, north London, was 'The Express Supply Co.'
