Summary

Q: How come Wales is so small but the weather varies so much? A: Wales is on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, which effects our weather immensely. The prevailing south westerly wind brings moist air from the Atlantic, so that means a lot of rain for us - and Swansea is the wettest city in the UK. Then we have those big and gorgeous mountains, which get a lot of rain but also shelter some areas from the wet weather. For example Snowdonia can get a lot of precipitation but then towns and cities along the north Wales coast stay sheltered and dry. Therefore parts of the north such as Wrexham can enjoy less rain and warmer temperatures.

Q: Are you everyone's first port of call for a weather report when they're planning a barbecue? A: My friends and family watch the forecasts religiously either on the TV or online, although I seem to have become the organiser for outdoor events as everyone is scared of the rain. So I rely highly on my own forecasts to entertain my friends and family.
