We're blessed in Wales with a plentiful supply of water. Not everyone in the world is so lucky, but thanks to the hard work and bright minds of our forefathers, we have a cheap, accessible supply of water that's also safe to drink. It's one of life's few essentials, so how lucky we are to have it delivered for a minimal cost right into our homes. But lately it seems that's just not good enough. No, we'd much rather have our water sourced from somewhere more exotic sounding, bottled in non-biodegradable packaging, transported across the world and then pay through the nose for the privilege. According to recent figures there really is no quenching our thirst for bottled water. Last year sales increased by 10%, meaning that two billion bottles were bought in the UK. In the midst of the summer's heatwave in July, 26 million bottles were sold in one week alone.
