SIR - In 1971 The Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, Brian Faulkner, introduced a new law giving the authorities the power to indefinitely detain suspected terrorists without trial.
I don't recall an upsurge of indignation from Tory Peers at the time, so it is likely that their current reaction to Labour's attempt to introduce 'house arrests' of suspected terrorist, is almost certainly politically motivated.See the full content of this document
