THAI anti-government protesters yesterday welcomed a compromise deal to end violent clashes which have paralysed Bangkok, but demanded more details before agreeing to leave the city.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva proposed holding new elections on November 14 in exchange for the Red Shirt protesters dismantling the camp they set up in the middle of the capital.
