SIR - The Interhash 2004 committee would have expressed official thanks to the Cardiff City Council, the police and all the authorities involved in our event last weekend, but I would like, on behalf of Bicester Hash House Harriers, to express our thanks to the people of Cardiff.

We were only a small group travelling from Oxfordshire, but the majority of the 5,500 hashers in Cardiff over the weekend had travelled from all corners of the globe. I found not one among us who were not appreciative of the reception we encountered wherever we went. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, if not a little bemused.
