TODAY will be another grim milestone for the Welsh manufacturing industry, with another iconic factory - Hoover's plant in Merthyr Tydfil - closing its doors Although the company wants to keep its headquarters and warehouse on the site, production will cease with the loss of 337 jobs. The initial decision was announced some time ago but the bitterness at the blow today will be none the less for that.
