Train Boy Rang Friends to Tell Them He Was About to Die

Summary

A boy of 15 rang friends to say he was going to kill himself - then lay in front of a train. Schoolboy Jonathan Mark Reynolds made the desperate phone call from the track side saying what he planned to do. But police arrived at the line moments after he was hit by the express train. An investigation was launched into the tragedy yesterday in the village of Pencoed, near Bridgend. Commuters at the station on Hendre Road told how they saw Jonathan walk down the track as a train was approaching.

The teenager, who lives in Bridgend with his family, was hit by the Cardiff to Milford Haven train seconds later.
