Summary
Telecoms company T-Mobile is to reduce its UK headcount by almost 800, and has not ruled out job losses at its Merthyr Tydfil call centre. The company, which is part of the Deutsche Telecom Group has unveiled plans to cut its personnel costs by 10% or 150 million euros (pounds 103m) in the next two years. As a result it is to cut 2,200 European jobs, with 795 of those to go in the UK.
The company has now begun a consultation process, and a spokeswoman for T-Mobile yesterday said it was too early to say whether the company's call centre, which employs 600 in Merthyr Tydfil, would be affected by the move.See the full content of this document
