AN AMATEUR pilot nicknamed the Flying Vet when he was arrested after landing his plane near George Bush's ranch, yesterday lost a legal battle in his bid to win back the right to practice his profession.

Maurice Kirk, a 63-year-old father of four, from Barry, South Wales, was struck off by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2002 for "disgraceful conduct" after a number of incidents.
