The outgoing chairman of mobile phone giant Vodafone robustly defended its chief executive yesterday after shareholders had expressed concerns over his leadership. Chief executive Arun Sarin won a vote of support at the company's annual general meeting. Shareholders voted 86% in favour of Mr Sarin's reappointment, with 9.5% voting against, and 4.5% abstaining.
