WALKER CUP captain Nigel Edwards led by example yesterday as he demonstrated all his sharpness and great skill to romp into the third round of the Welsh Amateur Golf Championship at Tenby.
This is one of the few events the 41-year-old Whitchurch man has not won in an illustrious career and this year unusually he is not seeded to reach the final having cut back on competitive outings since being appointed the Great Britain and Ireland supremo. Seeded at No 5 this week Edwards showed no mercy to Vale of Glamorgan's Tim Harry and romped to a 5&4 victory with a clinical display on Wales' oldest course.See the full content of this document
