Looking south from the high point of the farm, the ground falls away steeply to the meadows in the valley. Beyond, it rises gently, fold upon fold, to the horizon where the stark outlines of the Carmarthenshire Fans dominate the skyline. Like many Welsh landscapes it has a heart-stopping beauty.

And it is utterly artificial. Only the underlying geology and the river, winding its way to the sea, are natural.
