Deep in the bowels of what many supporters still refer to as the Yale Stand, about 250 people attended, a massive increase on last year's showing, when fewer than 40 bothered to come. The reason for the increase is not hard to find.

Last autumn, Wrexham AFC was placed under administration with reported debts of more than pounds 3m. Shortly afterwards, fans were shocked by the news that the club's owner, Alex Hamilton, had given notice of his intention to evict the club from the ground this summer and clear the site for redevelopment.
