Welsh troops serving in Iraq have come under fire in the city where a British soldier was killed. Officers from the Royal Welch Fusiliers (RWF) came under small arms fire in Basra on Monday - the same day Private Lee O'Callaghan, 20, from London, died when his patrol was attacked by insurgents, it emerged last night.

Just days earlier the infantry battalion saw a militant blow himself up just outside Basra.
