Red-faced bosses at the quango which has the job of increasing the use of Welsh moved yesterday to replace English-only notices at the entrance to one of its offices in Wales. People wanting to visit the Welsh Language Board's staff in Caernarfon, which has a higher proportion of Welsh speakers than any other town, could read the opening times on a list showing the days of the week in English only.
Last weekend there was another notice, a few feet away from WLB's official logo, advising people - again with no Welsh text - that the office was closed 'due to a burst pipe'.See the full content of this document
