THE personal details of prosecution witnesses due to appear in what promises to be one of the most sensational trials in Welsh legal history have been passed in error to defence lawyers, we can reveal.

The addresses and telephone numbers of dozens of witnesses in the pending trial of 13 police officers who investigated the murder of Cardiff prostitute Lynette White were inadvertently included in computer files prepared by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
