A welsh mints factory has changed hands as part of a $1.5bn deal between two huge food companies announced yesterday. American food giant Kraft announced that it was selling its sugar confectionery business to chewing-gum manufacturer Wrigley in a deal worth around pounds 800m.

The deal includes Kraft's factory in Bridgend, which employs more than 100 people.
