TORY David Jones was appointed as Wales Office Minister yesterday, and said he was on a mission to "smooth out the wrinkles" of the devolution settlement.

Clwyd West MP Mr Jones, 58, is deputy to Welsh Secretary Cheryl Gillan, and has been in the Commons since 2005. The Wales Office would be "much more pro-active" as a result of the change of government, he said.
