Summary
Welsh juvenile offenders will no longer have to serve their sentences in England after the Government's youth punishment agency announced plans to build secure accommodation in Wales.
The Youth Justice Board (YJB) said only 42 places were available to house up to 174 young offenders in Wales. Also 28 of these places were reserved for offenders placed on remand, creating a shortage that made it difficult to maintain links between juveniles and their home communities where they are housed on release.See the full content of this document
